John Leupold

John Leupold holds a DMA in Music Composition from University of Maryland and master’s

degrees in both composition and percussion performance from Appalachian State University. He is

currently an Associate Professor of Music at Washington College in Chestertown, MD with previous

appointments at Anne Arundel Community College, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and Towson

University. His music combines a wide variety of influences including popular and world musics with

a deep grounding in Classical forms and traditions. His works often center on rhythm and utilize
