The Easton Choral Arts Society is incorporated in Easton, Md. but its singers come from all over the Eastern Shore. The group holds weekly rehearsals and new members with vocal experience are always welcome. The chorus is a volunteer group, run by a Board of Directors chosen by the singers, with  Douglas Smith as the artistic director. Spring 2008 rehearsals are being held at Christ Church, 111 S. Harrison St., Easton, Md. on Tuesday nights 7:30 -9:30 pm. There are no dues for members and vocalists for all sections are invited to join. (Of course, we are always especially in need of tenors and basses!) Members of the ECAS can enjoy challenging their musicianship in the performance of a broad range of choral music, often accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. Sectional clinics are available to assist singers no matter what their level of ability. Members are encouraged to purchase their own music and donate it, following the concert, to the ECAS lending library, which makes its collection available for loan at a nominal fee to area singing groups and church choirs.
