November, 2009 - "The Merry Music of Gilbert & Sullivan"
Gilbert and Sullivan operas have enjoyed broad and enduring international success and are still performed frequently throughout the English-speaking world. Gilbert & Sullivan introduced innovations in content and form that directly influenced the development of musical theatre through the 20th century. This concert included excerpts from The Gondaliers, Ruddigore, Yeoman of the Guard, The Mikado, HMS Pinafore and The Pirates of Penzance. Solo's included guest artist Dr. T. Paul Pfeiffer as the "Modern Major General", David Moore, baritone, Joel Strobeck, tenor, Eric Mihan, tenor, Wes Lockfaw, tenor, Patty Rubin, alto, and Beth Hallworth, soprano. There were several quartets that included Ruth Hynson-Palmer, Ruth Bradley, Joel Strobeck, Jonathan West, Nancy Mullen, Eugenie Drayton, Ann Robinson, Patty Rubin, Wes Lockfaw, Barbara Roach, Joey Frankos, Jim Lohr, and Joseph Long. Accompanying the concert were Rebecca Wroten and orchestra members selected from our area.

                                                                                                                                                    April, 2009 - Lenten Meditations, Fauré's Requiem and Other Music
Inspirational music of Christendom's most sacred time, this concert included Gabriel Fauré's Requiem in D minor, Opus 48, and music of Brahms (How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place), Mozart (Lacrymosa - Day of Sadness), Moses Hogan (We Shall Walk Through the Valley), Goeffrey O'Hara (I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked), John Ireland (Greater Love Hath No Man), Dan Forrest (Hosanna to the King), Jean Fauré (The Palms) and Bruce Saylor (Jesu, Thou Joy of Loving Hearts).
